requiescat in pace

We were in Rome at the end of March and I’m still under the influence… #glass fresh from the kiln and as far from the inspiration of the field and garden as you can get. The stopper of this bottle/reliquary (hand, sleeve, heart) is one element sculpted entirely in the flame. We came across a reliquary for the foot of Mary Magdalen which struck me as unexpectedly lovely (isn’t for everyone) but it was the hands everywhere that absorbed me - swipe to see. We visited Santa Maria Maggiore (the chapel with the Black Madonna) and found the Pope (requiescat in pace)

had stopped there on his return from hospital the same week. This will be coming with me to The Quay Gallery next week but you will find an entire shrine of my glass at @beingwoman2025
